The United States Navy Experimental Diving Unit

The United States Navy Experimental Diving Unit (NEDU or NAVXDIVINGU) is the primary source of diving and hyperbaric operational guidance for the US Navy. It is located within the Naval Support Activity Panama City in Bay County, Panama City, Florida.

The Navy’s leading center for diving research, development, and testing and evaluation also providing biomedical and engineering solutions for undersea operations. Our team is composed of 120 highly qualified and experienced active duty, civilian and contract personnel. Divers come from all diving communities: Sea-Air-Land (SEAL) team, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), salvage, saturation, Seabee, engineering duty officer, and undersea medical officer (UMO).
